A.J. Hackett Normandie
A.J. Hackett was largely responsible for commercial bungy jumping and especially
for publicising it with a number of extreme jumps including one from the
Eiffel Tower. This site in Normandie was one of the very first in Europe
and is very popular. The
61m
high bridge has been built especially for jumping from and is on top
of some large stone pillars that used to support a railway bridge. The
river at the bottom of the valley has also been deepened to allow jumps
to be made actually into
the water! A very fast 'rope slide' across the valley is also now
available called 'Le Scable'.
